Job Description

Overall Purpose of the role

As a Senior Java Software Engineer, you will develop the services that coordinate our robots during real agricultural missions. Your work will cover mission management, robot state orchestration, GPS positioning, system monitoring, and communication with our real-time C++ software, allowing autonomous machines to operate safely and efficiently in demanding outdoor environments.

Your future assignments

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement robust Java services powering our agricultural robots
  • Develop system-level orchestration across the user interface, backend services, and real-time C++ components
  • Contribute to mission execution, robot state machines, and synchronization logic
  • Improve system reliability, observability, and fault tolerance
  • Contribute to the architecture and evolution of our robotics software platform

Experience required

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent

Experience / Technical Skills

  • 5+ years of professional experience in Java software development
  • Strong knowledge of object-oriented design, software architecture, and design patterns
  • Proven ability to design distributed systems and service-oriented applications
  • Hands-on experience with service communication technologies such as gRPC, FlatBuffers, or similar
  • Proficient in reading and understanding C++ code to collaborate with embedded and robotics engineers
  • Comfortable working in a Linux development environment
  • Fluent in French and English
